This for all leaders. More for the younger ones. How long will you whine and crack the emotional whip on a country which has (now) grown. We are known to be emotional. And leaders' used to enjoy mass hysteria in the '70s, 80 and 90s...
Today, parivartan has come. Mind you, I am not speaking of Poriborton ala the change in Bengal.
The script has to change with the maturity of the crowd. One can't think of remaking another Sholay or a Dharm Veer... . Today, when two men sing yeh dosti hum nahin chhodenge, it could mean something else!
It's only restricted to Jai-Veeru. Likewise, roti, kapda aur makan and garibi hatao have given way to Bharat nirman etc...
But for some, the record is stuck with puri (whole) roti and (only) sau din kaam.
One has to grow. Not only grow but grow gracefully, And grow out of one's grandmother, father and mother's shadows.
Copy paste speeches, slapstick scripts and wrenching tear glands to produce tonnes of emotion may be a trifle nagging.
Come on, this is no Hum aap ke hain kaun where you pay to cry or a Dabangg where you cry to pay.
This is hardcore real life. Specially at a time when everybody harps on performance, we aren't supposed to ONLY whip up passion.
Indians do remember sacrifices. If you are talking of assassinations (not murders), the young leaders should know the difference, then it started with Bapuji. Netaji's disappearance remains a mystery. In that sense, the country can never "remember" Netaji. Dirty politics has snatched one's right to light a candle and place a wreath in front of his photographs. This is politics of keeping the controversy alive and denying the great leader his "riteful" due.
Finally, if a young leader is himself drowned in tears what happiness will he bring to others?
