Huh? How did this happen? An Imran Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer produced by Karan Johar with such little buzz around it? Or did Diwali just take up all my attention? Or maybe I have just been living under a rock.
Anyway, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein looks like one of those regular, breezy romantic comedies. It does have that one aspect of the city-bred lead lady's aspirations to work in a village.
While it is great to see some kind of meat to the characters, we all know how little romantic comedies can become about their protagonists' work choices, especially the woman's. The more out-of-box the career is in the trailer, the lesser the importance in the overall impact of the actual film.
To top it off, we have the hero leaving his urban ways, to move to the village to prove his love. My issue is not with the intensity of love, but that the love builds up over a song and a few montages - very unconvincing.
So, expecting this one to be average or the ever hopeful and dil duffer thinks it could be just a little over average too.

Bollywood Hungama - "2/5"
Milliblog - "Vishal Shekhar's music here is likeable, but remains superficially frothy."
